Why 2025 Could Be Your Year to Thrive on the Gold Coast
Hi, Andrew Bell here with the first edition of 2025 – Happy New Year!
The past two weeks on the Gold Coast have been nothing short of magnificent. Day after day of sunshine, accompanied by light breezes that have kept humidity low and the intense heat at bay, has made for an ideal summer. An occasional shower has kept our parks and gardens lush, but overall, it’s been one of the best summers I can recall.
Just recently, I saw a report from Gold Coast Airport highlighting 1.2 million arrivals during the December and January period so far – that’s 150,000 people per week! This incredible influx includes an ever-changing mix of visitors, many of whom are planning to relocate, purchase holiday homes, or invest in properties. I’m confident there are also countless visitors who, after enjoying their time here, decided to buy a property on the Gold Coast – even if it wasn’t their initial plan.
This growing interest in the Gold Coast is exactly why we created The Event 30 years ago. Now the largest property promotion in Australia, The Event has become a staple of our calendar. This year, we are showcasing 105 properties going to auction in late January and early February, with most scheduled for Monday, 27th January.
The selection of properties is truly remarkable, spanning from Northern NSW to the northernmost parts of the Gold Coast. Whether you’re seeking beachfront apartments, hinterland acreage, family homes, luxury villas, or even commercial opportunities across retail, office, industrial, and development sectors, there’s something for everyone.
In my 35 years with the Ray White Surfers Paradise Group, I’ve never seen such confidence in the Gold Coast property market. While no place is perfect, I often ask myself: where else could possibly be better? In a world that feels increasingly chaotic and conflict-driven, the sanctuary of your home and its surrounding environment has never been more important. Real estate is so much more than bricks and mortar – it’s about lifestyle, happiness, and the foundation of a fulfilling life.
Real estate is also the cornerstone of wealth for most Australians. With the national real estate asset class recently surpassing $11 trillion in value, property is undeniably a powerful wealth generator. However, the true value of a home lies in the quality of life it brings. It’s not just about which property offers the best returns, but about which one will bring you the most happiness. That’s a lesson I’ve learned over my 45+ years in real estate.
We have an incredible selection of properties to share this year. This week’s e-newsletter features the majority of them, and you can also refer to the Gold Coast Bulletin for our open home directory. Taking the time to visit properties in person, rather than relying on photos or videos, is well worth the effort. It’s the best way to make a fully informed decision.
Once again, Happy New Year! Don’t let 2025 simply unfold – plan for the goals and dreams you want to achieve, and take action to make them a reality.
