Get Active With Family in Surfers Paradise

By Andrew Bell

Surfers Paradise may be known across the country for its dazzling tourist attractions, but this seaside city is just as good a spot to raise a family as it is to take a holiday.

Real estate in Surfer's Paradise is especially fantastic for families who like to stay fit.

Mums and babies can get on the right track together with Mummylicious, a weekly outdoor fitness class in Surfers Paradise's Macintosh Island Park each Friday morning.

This hour-long core circuit program aims to help new mums get in shape and meet other women – knocking out two health birds with one stone. Babies are welcome to accompany mum!

You can't live in Surfers Paradise property without learning how to ride a wave or two yourself! Surfing is a great sport to get kids involved in from an early age, and the classes on offer in the community make it especially easy.

Head down to the beach end of Cavill Mall to take a two-hour surf lesson with Go Ride a Wave, the only Surfing Australia-accredited school in Surfers Paradise.

You could also enrol in beginner classes any day from 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm with Cheyne Horan Surf School. You can find out more about the lessons on offer at the booth on the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Hanlan Street.
