Why you should consider Main Beach real estate for your next move

By Andrew Bell

Away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise but close enough that you can get easy access if you want to, Main Beach is a great Gold Coast suburb.

Here’s why you should include Main Beach real estate in your next property search.

1) Beachfront location

You can’t beat a beachfront location and in Main Beach you’ll have access to 57 kilometres of coastline right on your doorstep. Residents and visitors alike have access to the popular beach cafe, Pavilion 34, where you can get your fish and chips with a sea view. The cafe is in the old bathing pavilion and there are lots of photos to remind everyone of days gone by.

2) Coffee dates and dining

Tedder Avenue is the social hub of the suburb, and the perfect place to base your day or evening. About as far inland as you can get in Main Beach, Tedder Avenue is at the southern end of the suburb. Whether you want a casual cafe or a boutique bar or restaurant, Tedder Avenue has it all covered and is a popular spot for evening diners.

3) The Spit and Federation Walk Coastal Reserve

The northern tip of Main Beach is known as The Spit and is home to 93 hectares of coastal reserve. There’s a selection of paths that cross the reserve, providing ample opportunity for walkers, runners and cyclists to enjoy the greenery. The path for the official Federation Walk starts from the car park near SeaWorld and ensures walkers see a mixture of sand, greenery and regenerating rainforest.

4) Shopping

Marina Mirage is situated on the west coast of the peninsula and offers exclusive shopping for when you want something special. It houses over 70 stores selling fashion and homewares and is in an open-air centre so you can still enjoy the Gold Coast sunshine. During the weekends they host a farmers market and there’s also a good selection of waterside restaurants, where you can watch the boats mooring at Southport Yacht Marina come and go.

Tedder Avenue also offers an opportunity to shop between coffees and lunches.

5) Seaworld

Living anywhere in Surfers Paradise means you have easy access to a variety of theme parks. However, in Main Beach, Seaworld is almost within touching distance. Home to a wide array of marine animals, come face-to-face from down below or watch the antics from above the water line. Especially handy if you have kids to entertain, consider a pass to get access to several of the theme parks for anything from several days up to 12 months.
